Job Purpose
Manage and lead Quality Management System activities across Quality Services Department, Market Quality and Product Engineering departments. Manage Quality concern Trouble Reporting and countermeasures. Provide quick response and leadership for quality concerns, using complex analysis and coordination to contain all quality problems within transmission plant to prevent them from reaching the customer.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead Quality Management System dept auditing and support plant auditing (Internal and external)
- Dept Administrator for Quality Management System Systems, Procedures, Documents, Training
- Manage Plant Trouble Report status and closures
- Conduct transmission repairs and support repair projects on-site, at frame plants, and railheads. Lead containment activity across transmission plant departments and at frame plants using 3rd party support if needed
- Make quality judgements using appropriate analysis skills and gauging to compare actual condition to spec.
- Review Non Conforming Product Deviation requests from manufacturing and confirm actual problem and suspect range
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor/Associate Degree and/or relevant work experience in a quality or manufacturing role
- 4 years in a quality or manufacturing experience in a leadership role (automotive preferred)
- Excellent verbal communication, problem solving ability, knowledge of quality assurance tools and techniques, clear & concise report writing, strong software and analysis skills
Workstyle
- Manufacturing environment. At the spot activity to support Auditing, investigations, product testing, and dis-assy and re-assembly of missions during repair projects
- Open office environment.
- 5-10 hours of OT each week. OT support required as major quality concerns arise.
- Travel to frame plants and railheads as needed (2 to 5 times per year).
