Insurance Communications Analyst

This position provides assistance and support in the development and maintenance of all Property and Casualty insurance product coverage forms and contracts, so as to provide the level of coverage desired by our members and consistent with organizational objectives. 

This position also creates and maintains internal and external insurance communications in various mediums and formats for all membership and insurance products in multiple states. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, write, and maintain membership and insurance-related external communications, such as letters and notices. 

  • Develop, write, and maintain insurance-related internal communications that explain product/system enhancements, underwriting guidelines, revised rates, new product implementations, etc.

  • Develop and maintain Product Line Manuals that are legally compliant and meet business objectives. 

  • Monitor competitor coverage options, forms, and filings to identify opportunities.

  • Use various publications, communications, and legal research tools to monitor regulatory, legislative, and judicial activity in designated states, analyze the impact to the business, and make recommendations to ensure compliance.

  • Assist/support Insurance Communications Specialist in the development of policy contract language, forms, endorsements, notices, and external communications that are legally compliant and meet business objectives.

  • Create and submit regulatory compliant form and guideline filings in multiple states for multiple product lines. Monitor filings and draft responses to questions raised by the state.

  • Review test output to ensure the forms and communications are being produced as expected, including new, revised, or existing forms and communications. Review and monitor production output of forms and communications to ensure live versions are correct.

  • Consult and/or collaborate with multiple business units, professionals, internal and external business partners within the organization to execute project deliverables that support product and market strategies.

  • Maintain Knowledgebase and migrate all Product Line Manuals, relevant internal communications, and applicable forms to Knowledgebase as needed. 

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.

  • 3 or more years of experience in the insurance industry, with an emphasis in Property Casualty Claims and/or Underwriting experience preferred.

  • Prior project management experience preferred.

  • Prior technical writing experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of insurance business.

  • Ability to work independently and act with professionalism.

  • Excellent verbal and written skills, with an emphasis on technical writing.

  • Strong research and analytical skills with ability to identify trends and recommend solutions. Experience with legal research tools is a plus.

  • Strong reading comprehension skills with ability to understand and filter complex information from multiple sources.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills required to coordinate among multiple business units. Must have the ability to work within a team-oriented setting.

  • Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills required.

  • Ability to do very detailed, accurate work that requires long periods of concentration.

  • Flexibility to handle multiple business-critical deadlines.

  • Strong computer skills required. Ability to learn and become proficient in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint/Knowledgebase, SERFF, Exstream, etc. with ability to create and manipulate complex formatting in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat.

  • CPCU certification preferred.
