Materials Coordinator, Minnesota

Location: Onsite – Arden Hills, MN

Opportunity

Under the direction of the Manager- Consumer Operations, the Materials Coordinator is responsible for overseeing shipping, receiving, and warehousing operations at the Kohler Services location.  This position analyzes inventory inaccuracies and shortages, performs root cause analyses, and implements corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.  Materials Coordinator also oversees the staging of product for installations, the availability of product for future installations, quality control on outbound product, and the processing of outbound shipments in SAP.  The Materials Coordinator will play an active role recognizing and identifying opportunities for process improvements as well as in training warehouse helpers up to Kohler standards in quality control and warehouse cleanliness.  In addition, advanced WMS (Warehouse Management System) knowledge of SAP integration is preferred.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Oversees all inventory including but not limited to product, consumables and tools.
  • Coordinate the successful execution of receiving, inventory, and shipping operations.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify and prevent non-value-added work as result of WMS deficiencies.
  • Recognize, identify, and drive continuous improvements projects in the warehouse. 
  • Maintains a clean work area, practicing and following all required safety regulations.
  • Work closely with Kohler IT and third-party IT groups to identify and resolve SAP issues.
  • Identify product shortages and inventory discrepancies that will impact timely delivery to job sites.
  • Train warehouse helpers on product, procedures, and quality control.
  • Optimize storage to free up space whenever possible.
  • Assist in dispatching of emergency product to job sites.

Skills/Requirements

  • High school diploma required with a preferred minimum of two (2) years of experience in warehousing and shipping procedures and methods. Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Preferred understanding of SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement methods, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Kohler Co. product offering is helpful.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 100lbs and stand for long periods is required. May be required to reach over shoulder height and head height and crawling and crouching positionally. 
  • Ability to operate company vehicle required. Satisfactory MVR will be required to operate company vehicle.
