What You Will Enjoy Doing

Responsible for supporting and coordinating the development and implementation of Operational Excellence and Safety throughout the Plant. Encouraging and driving the operation to improve safety, efficiency and delivery while reducing costs.

 

Main Responsibilities (Safety Coordinator):

 

  • Lead the site safety programs to promote performance expectations for safe work practices
  • Coordinate the effective implementation of compliance with all site safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct on-site training in all areas of safety (as needed)
  • Conduct on-site risk assessments for standard and non-standard work.
  • Assist with reporting, & maintenance of training records
  • Assist in the timely reporting and investigating of all reported safety incidents
  • Assist in trend analysis on incidents to determine root cause issues
  • Assist in managing and auditing contractors on site (as needed)
  • Comply with all local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

Main Responsibilities (Operational Excellence):

 

  • Create an OPEX culture by establishing, supporting and implementing behavioral change tools; establish new ideas how all management levels can onboard and understand what the benefit of OPEX is
  • Design, execute and evaluate NEXT programs for implementation at the plant level
  • Execute (and coordinate) improvement projects and facilitate KAIZEN workshops with support of Regional OPEX team (where needed)
  • Verify OPEX tools & methods; support local process owners in their efforts to implement and sustain at the plant level
  • Train local leaders on OPEX assessment; give a diagnose of the current situation in the operation and moderate the execution of improvements
  • Ensure high quality of improvement projects aligned with the strategy and prioritize focusing on biggest issues. Proper project management incl. RCA, documentation and tracking of cost saving is a must
  • Encourage the exchange between the plants & regions regarding learnings, experience, challenges, and application of standards to avoid issues/unclarities. Enable and promote knowledge sharing & identify/review Good Practices
  • Leverage RCA methodologies to identify corrective actions and implement preventive actions for OPEX, Quality and Safety topics
  • Maintain a frequent controlling of the plant regarding abnormalities, trends and potential for improvements. Get informed about KPI trends, cost, quality issues and status of action plans and guide the plant to prioritize correctly
  • Ensure that official tools/reports/systems are used correctly (5s, BIC, CTO, AlplaPROD, D.Velop, DMS, Management Review)

What Makes You Great

 

Education/Experience:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Process analysis, supply chain, production, lean management, quality assurance and/or project management.

 

  • High School or GED Diploma required; college degree preferred
  • One year engagement in safety program (ALPLA or otherwise)
  • Min 2 years working experience in general industry
  • Ability to pursue cooperation from other employees and departments

 

Qualifications/Skills:
