The Opportunity

As a dedicated Life Actuarial Analyst, you will coordinate, prepare, and perform actuarial analyses required to value life, health, and annuity liabilities on US GAAP and statutory bases, and to develop financial forecasts to support corporate planning. You will join a team of actuaries, students, and analysts sitting in the CFO organization, and will have the chance to collaborate across a wide range of actuarial and non-actuarial teams.

This position can work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. Relocation is not available.

What you'll do:

  • Perform routine work assignments utilizing actuarial modeling software driven models for valuation and financial forecasting

  • Responsible for data compilation and analytical support to include entering data and tables, running models, and generating reports

  • Participate in developing recommendations for model adjustments and improvements, when appropriate

  • Resolve less complex issues independently, and identify appropriate issues for escalation

  • Leverage established processes, prepare reports, identify and resolve data and reporting problems

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements

  • Monitor critical experience areas and identify unfavorable trends

  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree; 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree

  • Up to 2 years of relevant business or analytical experience

  • 2 Society of Actuaries exams completed

  • Understanding and experience applying data analysis and actuarial techniques

What sets you apart:

  • Advanced degree in math, physics, actuarial science, or other technical field

  • Programming experience for data-intensive applications in SQL, Python, R, or other relevant languages

  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $69,920.00 - $133,620.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

 

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
