As a dedicated Software Engineer Intermediate, you will provide support to the Enterprise by delivering best-in-class technology solutions for an application development team primarily focused on Java, REST APIs, and JavaScript technologies. You will engage in all phases of the software system and application development lifecycle which include gathering and analyzing requirements (both functional and non-functional), designing, testing, documenting, software implementation and responding to outages. To fully deliver these imperatives, we have developed technical training curriculum to establish base-level knowledge essential to software development standards and practices used within application development teams at USAA. After successfully completing the training curriculum, you will be assigned to an application development team. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position will be based in one of the following location: San Antonio, TX. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. What you'll do: Design, develop, code, and test technical solutions. Write code to deliver features, and improvements, on a regular basis. Investigates and resolve technical problems and production issues through troubleshooting techniques. Continually improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures. Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming. Follows the software development lifecycle. Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
