Northrop Grumman is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer specialized in PWB (Printed Wire Board) commodities to join our Supplier Performance Management Field Engineering team. This team supports programs with suppliers across the United States and Internationally. The location is in Orange County, CA. This position works a 9/80 schedule and will travel an estimated 75%. Many suppliers are located in Orange County. Roles and Responsibilities: Collaborate in a team environment, negotiate and integrate different viewpoints, prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project results. Represent the company with credibility, confidence and professionalism. Perform Specification Compliance Reviews, First Article Inspections and Source inspections on various categories of hardware, especially for PWB commodity. Other commodities such as cables and connectors, microelectronics, electro-mechanical systems are preferred. Understands continuous process improvement (CI) and can effectively develop and execute CI initiatives and activities. Initiate Corrective Action Plans and work with suppliers, manufacturing and engineering personnel to identify root cause and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented. Analyze and interpret data to identify suppliers’ process issues and developing solutions. Perform process and product audits along with capacity assessments to ensure the supplier's processes are robust and capable, as well as compliant to Military and Space requirements. Effectively perform supplier surveillance activities designed to manage and improve supplier performance, productivity, and process validation. Apply technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts to analyze and audit our suppliers’ processes and capabilities. Capable of leading cross-functional teams in pursuit of performance improvements aligned to department and organizational goals. Mitigate supplier quality risk to prevent/minimize business impact from supplied material defects. Proactive reduction and prevention of supplied material defect occurrences and verification of supplied material defect claims. Lead on-site supplier engagements, including performance reviews and QMS (Quality Management System) audits. Be able to analyze and present data to all levels of leadership. Strong communication skills (both oral and written). Understands general contracting principles in a Department of Defense and commercial environment. Establish positive working relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
