Financial Analyst III

Overview:

As the Financial Analyst III, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial management support, including budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting. You will collaborate with multiple departments and stakeholders to ensure the financial health of the logistics operations and alignment with both internal and external financial guidelines and policies and use your knowledge of financial principles and systems to optimize resource utilization and support decision-making processes in the logistics and supply chain management functions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and monitor annual and multi-year budgets, including forecasts for the Naval Supply Fleet Logistics Center, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and financial regulations.
  • Analyze financial data, including expenditures, revenues, and variances, to provide actionable insights.
  • Prepare financial reports for senior management and stakeholders, detailing financial performance, trends, and risks.
  • Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of logistics and supply chain operations, identifying areas of improvement to reduce costs while maintaining operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Assist in audits and reviews, and support the development and implementation of financial controls and processes.
  • Assess financial requirements for logistics operations and recommend optimal allocation of resources to meet organizational goals and mission requirements.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to predict future performance, incorporating key performance indicators (KPIs) and other relevant metrics to support decision-making processes.
  • Work closely with the logistics, operations, and supply chain teams to understand financial needs and provide financial guidance.
  • Communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Education and/or Experience:

  • A Bachelors degree in financial Discipline or 15 years of experience in a related career field.
  • At least (1) year of experience within the last (5) years with operations of all areas of the DTS travel program, R-Supply, and SABRS financial management program.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Program tools.
  • At least 1 year of experience processing and researching key financial reporting documents, to include Unfilled Order Listing. Summary Filled Order Expenditure Listing, Dormant Account Review Quarterly and Annual Financial Management Plan.
  • At least (1) year of experience within the last (5) years with no supervision in high functioning level Navy financial management in operational context, and knowledge of budget submission requirements and reporting guidelines.
  • At least (1) year of experience within the last (5) years in training and evaluating Logistics Specialist personnel within the TYCOM and SYSCOM guidance directives, and associated checklists.

  • Must have a current United States Government SECRET Personnel Security Clearance or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered Investigation.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to maintain a U.S. Government SECRET clearance.
