Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal or Sr. Principal Engineer Avionics to support the Vehicle Management Subsystem's Hardware Avionics team at the Rancho Bernardo, San Diego, CA site. The group is responsible for vehicle flight control and safety. The Hardware Avionics group is seeking a Computer Hardware Engineer to support the production, repair, and development of the Vehicle Management Computer (Flight Computer). Members of the team perform proposal development, technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analysis, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept development, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Team members ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. They also perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. This position can be filled at either the Principal Engineer or Sr. Principal Engineer level.
