PAY: $26.00 Per Hour

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise and Manage Day Porters: Oversee and guide the Day Porter team, ensuring that all cleaning and maintenance tasks are performed to meet company standards. Set daily priorities and delegate tasks to ensure efficient coverage of high-traffic areas, restrooms, and common spaces. 

• Monitor Morning Operations: Coordinate the morning cleaning operations to ensure the facility is prepared for the day. Conduct walkthroughs to check cleanliness levels and address any areas that require immediate attention.

 • Quality Control Inspections: Conduct routine and spot inspections throughout the facility to ensure compliance with cleanliness and safety standards. Use inspection results to provide feedback to Day Porters and take corrective actions as necessary.

 • Develop and Implement Cleaning Schedules: Design and enforce daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules, ensuring that all areas of the facility receive appropriate attention. Adjust schedules based on operational needs, seasonal fluctuations, or specia events.

Manage Work Orders and Special Requests: Oversee the processing and completion of work orders related to cleaning and maintenance. Collaborate with other departments to address specific cleaning requests and ensure prompt resolution of facility-related issues. 

• Order Supplies and Manage Inventory: Monitor cleaning supply levels, ensuring that necessary materials (e.g., cleaning chemicals, paper products, equipment) are always in stock. Manage inventory, order supplies in a timely and cost-effective manner, and ensure proper storage and organization of these materials.

 • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including maintenance, facilities management, and event planning, to ensure that cleaning efforts align with broader facility needs. Act as a liaison between Day Porters and other teams to coordinate cleaning tasks during special events, meetings, or emergency situations. 

• Staff Training and Development: Train and onboard new Day Porters, providing ongoing education on cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and equipment use. Promote a positive team environment, focusing on high performance and employee morale.

Task Assignment and Workflow Management: Assign tasks to Day Porters based on priority areas and ensure that all shifts are covered. Manage and adjust the workflow to accommodate last-minute requests or operational changes.

 • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all cleaning activities adhere to health and safety regulations. Train staff on the proper use of cleaning chemicals and protective equipment, and enforce the use of safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.

 • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, inspections, and work orders. Prepare reports on facility conditions, cleaning effectiveness, and inventory levels for review by upper management.

 • Handle Emergency Cleaning Situations: Respond promptly to urgent cleaning needs, such as spills, accidents, or equipment malfunctions, ensuring that all incidents are resolved quickly and safely.

Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

 • Proven experience in a supervisory role, preferably within the janitorial, facility maintenance, or operations management fields.

Strong knowledge of cleaning processes, quality control procedures, and health and safety regulations.

Good communication skills both written and verbal.

 • Experience in managing cleaning supply inventory, including ordering, tracking, and organizing supplies. 

• Excellent leadership, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to oversee a team and manage multiple tasks effectively.

 • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and work with various departments to meet facility needs. • Experience with work order management systems and ability to track and resolve cleaning and maintenance requests efficiently.

 • Proficiency in using computers for reporting, inventory management, and administrative tasks.
