As an Education Coordinator, you will be the primary educational and behavioral resource to assigned classrooms. This includes responsibility for direct supervision of all assigned teachers and for monitoring quality of services and ensuring classroom and site adherence to all state mandated and internal procedures. 

‖ Responsibilities Include:

  • Monitoring quality and effectiveness in the development and implementation of student Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Positive Behavior Intervention Plans (PBIP).
  • Representing the Company during IEP meetings and may, at the discretion of the school district, be responsible for facilitating IEP team meetings.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective public relations with parents, care providers and district personnel, always projecting a positive company image.
  • Coaching classroom staff in creating and maintaining an age appropriate, attractive, clean physical environment favorable to student progress which meets the standards established by the school.
  • Ensuring the use of positive teaching methods by providing coaching/training and observing classroom staff’s implementation of IEP goals and Positive Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Providing support to classroom staff in educational instruction, Positive Behavior Intervention Plan implementation, and data collection systems to promote and assure greater independence for students with challenging behaviors.
  • Performing functional assessments of behavior, writing Positive Behavior Intervention Plans, training teachers on how to supervise their classroom staff, and providing support in instruction relative to community, vocational, leisure, domestic, academic, independent living, and social skills.
  • Providing guidance, consultation, and assistance to Teachers in the development of classroom schedules, maintenance of student data systems and facilitation of student transition plans to assure appropriate curriculum, schedule, and services are provided based on each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and other applicable goals.
  • Assessing student progress through consistent review of classroom data collection and recording systems and providing guidance to classroom staff accordingly in addressing student needs.
  • Providing classroom support that emphasizes acquisition of functional and academic skills in the least restrictive manner and setting, as specified in the IEP.
  • Functioning as a role model for effective teaching of students as well as for communication and problem solving with staff, reinforcing the school’s emphasis on behavior analytic, empirical approach to education, the extensive use of data in decision making, and the use of positive reinforcement to achieve maximum performance when working with students and co-workers.
  • Assisting in identifying and reporting potential safety issues/hazards, including, but not limited to, improper use of Standard Precautions, Emergency Preparedness Procedures, and behavior intervention techniques covered in orientation training.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

‖ Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education or related field.
  • Master’s degree in education, special education, applied behavior analysis or related field preferred. 
  • Meet state teaching license and/or certification requirements.
  • Behavior analyst (BCBA) certification preferred.
  • Minimum two years prior experience working with individuals with severe disabilities and challenging behaviors in a classroom setting.
  • Minimum two years prior experience working in an educational supervisory role.
  • Prior experience and highly knowledgeable in applied behavior analysis preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
