We are an aerospace company based in San Jose, CA USA, committed to manufacturing sustainable air mobility. We design and manufacture electric aircraft. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Composite Manufacturing Supervisor. The Composite Manufacturing Supervisor will lead and oversee the production team and be responsible for manufacturing composite components for aviation applications. This position requires a hands-on leader with a strong background in composite materials, manufacturing processes, and team management to ensure the delivery of high-quality products on time and within budget.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Supervision:

  • Supervise daily operations of the composite manufacturing team, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Manage, train, and mentor a team of technicians and operators, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and aviation regulations.

2. Production Management:

  • Plan and schedule production activities to meet project deadlines and customer requirements.
  • Monitor workflows and processes, making adjustments to optimize production efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical challenges and implement improvements.

3. Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all composite components meet the company’s quality standards and industry specifications.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and quality checks to maintain product integrity.
  • Address and resolve quality issues promptly, implementing corrective and preventive actions.

4. Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and waste minimization.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in composite manufacturing technology and integrate innovative solutions.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of production data, inventory, and team performance.
  • Prepare and present reports on production metrics, team progress, and project status.

Experience Level:
-Minimum 10 years of related experience in the Aerospace industry.
-Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
-Knowledge of aircraft manufacturing methods including any or all of the following; Wire harness fabrication and installation, mechanical system assembly and installation, composite fabrication and assembly, and aircraft assembly.
-Understanding of aircraft safety, tool control, FOD, and industry standards.
-Experience working in a product development environment.
-Effective organizational and time management skills.
-Strong computer skills with an emphasis on Google suite.
-Ability to work in a fast paced and highly regulated environment with adaptability to changing priorities.
-Great verbal and written communication skills and a high attention to detail are required.
