Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

We are a leading manufacturing company based in San Jose, CA 95002 USA, committed to excellence in every aspect of our operations. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving manufacturing processes and systems to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that production goals are met.

Requirements:
  • 7+ years of related experience in Aerospace.
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in related field in Aerospace, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Understanding of AS9100 requirements.
  • Must have extensive experience using shop tools and calibrated aerospace tooling.
  • Understanding aircraft safety, tool control, FOD, and industry standards.
  • Experience working with composite material layup, secondary bonding, and/or final assembly.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to review geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Building and revising work instructions.
  • Experience working in a product development environment.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills with an emphasis on Google suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and highly regulated environment with adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Great communication skills and a high attention to detail are required.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in related field of Aerospace Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of IPC 610/620 & AC43.13-B
  • A&P certification
  • Experience working with an MES
  • Experience with electric aircrafts
  • Experience with high voltage wiring, batteries, and electric motor controllers
  • Aircraft configuration management and conformity experience.
     
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines and utilize relevant production knowledge to author Aircraft Production Work Instructions.
  • Assist on and off aircraft build up, rework, and repairs to electrical components, interior closeouts, metallic and composite assemblies, wiring harnesses, and composite secondary bonding.
  • Support continuous improvement projects for scaling the Test Vehicle build for Production for manufacturing process and tooling.
  • Utilizes various forms of engineering and technical information such as model based engineering definition, wiring & schematic diagrams, engineering dispositions, and ground support / test equipment to support the build of our Test Vehicles.
  • Mentor other manufacturing engineers on final assembly processes and design for manufacturability improvements.
  • Review engineering design releases for manufacturability, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and complete process requirement definition.
  • Collaborate with quality engineering to develop control plans for the Test Vehicles.

We are looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for continuous improvement. You should have a strong background in manufacturing engineering and a proven track record of success in process improvement. You should also have excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
