The Pastry Chef's primary objective is the preparation and presentation of food items to ensure high standard of quality and quantity to meet the needs of the residents. Handles food in accordance with sanitary standards and recognized food preparation standards.

Schedule: Full-Time, 6 AM - 2 PM, Monday - Friday

Pay: $18 - $21 depending on experience 

To be successful in the role, you would have:

  • Prior culinary, food service, or restaurant experience, specifically with baking or pastry responsibilities
  • Food hander's certification
  • ServSafe certification (preferred)

Work Duties:

  • Operate and manage the pastry section of a kitchen, working together with the other chefs
  • Follow recipes accurately
  • Prepare a variety of baked goods
  • Decorate and present pastries and baked goods for all areas of campus
  • Monitor and order ingredients, supplies and equipment
  • Meet with customers to discuss custom-made desserts or baked goods for special occasions
  • Ensure the bakery section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations
  • Identify staffing needs, help to recruit new personnel and train them
  • Develop new seasonal recipes and menus to keep up with the latest food trends
