The Cook’s primary objective is the preparation of food items to ensure a high standard of quality and quantity to meet the needs of the residents. You would be handling food in accordance with sanitary standards and recognized food preparation standards.

Work Duties

  • Prepares food, including but not limited to washing, trimming, cutting, portioning, measuring, mixing, and panning; following approved recipes, prepare entrees and sides for higher levels of living on and off campus accounts
  • Cooks food including baking, broiling, frying, steaming, braising, boiling, and pressure cooking; support line cook during dinner service 
  • Provides meals that are properly cooked, tasty, and attractive meeting high standards for quality and presentation and ensuring dietary needs are met;
  • Takes stock to ensure appropriate quality and quantity for meal preparation;
  • Ensures cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen;
  • Complies with all food preparation standards and health and safety requirements; Check temperatures of all foods leaving the main kitchen and enter in appropriate logs
  • Load dining carts with food for satellite kitchens in higher levels of living

     

Part-time 

Shifts:

Saturdays and Sundays, 11:30 A.M.-7 P.M.

Evening, weekend, and holiday availability 

Pay:

$18 - $21/ hr depending on experience 

To be successful in the role, you would have:

  • Prior culinary, food service, or restaurant experience
  • Food Handler’s certification
  • ServSafe certification (preferred)
