Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Imaging Services or a designated appointee, the CT Technologist is responsible for performing radiographic procedures at an appropriate technical level. This role involves a variety of technical tasks requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. The CT Technologist assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT imaging procedures according to established protocols, ensuring accurate and high-quality diagnostic images.
- Operate and maintain CT equipment, ensuring functionality and safety.
- Prepare patients for CT procedures, providing clear instructions and positioning them properly for optimal imaging results.
- Exercise independent judgment and technical expertise in performing radiologic procedures, applying prescribed ionizing radiation safely.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret CT images and contribute to patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate records of procedures, patient data, and equipment maintenance.
- Assume responsibility for specific areas or procedures as required, ensuring efficient workflow and patient care.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including radiation safety and infection control measures.
- Participate in the training and supervision of junior technologists and radiology students when applicable.
Qualifications:
- Education:
 - Graduate of a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (AMA) Accredited Educational Program in Radiology Technology, a college degree program, or equivalent.
- Experience:
 - A minimum of two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment is desirable.
- Licenses/Certificates:
 - ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) registry required.
 - Current State Licensure.
 - Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or obtained within the first week of employment.
