The Staff Pad is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Technologist to join our client's laboratory team in Las Vegas, New Mexico. The Medical Technologist will be responsible for performing daily operations and testing in the laboratory, reviewing and maintaining quality control and preventative maintenance records, and managing the inventory of laboratory supplies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in laboratory science and have experience in a hospital laboratory setting, including experience in a Bloodbanking area.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily Operations: Conduct routine laboratory tests and procedures, ensuring precision and efficiency in all operations.
  • Quality Control: Review and maintain quality control records to ensure compliance with established standards and protocols.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform and document preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage laboratory supply inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory tests, procedures, and results.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards, ensuring a safe and compliant laboratory environment.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely test results for patient care.


Requirements

  • Education: Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Laboratory Science or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year experience as a Medical Technologist in a hospital laboratory setting, including experience in a Bloodbanking area.
  • Licenses/Certificates:
    • Certification by ASCP, NCA, AMT, ABB, HEW, or equivalent strongly preferred.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained during the first week of employment.
