As a Patient Care Coordinator, we are often the first point of contact for our patients and their families. As such we value representing an important first impression. Our professionalism, expertise and dedication help ensure that our patients receive the quality of care they need. We are diligent in obtaining complete and accurate insurance and demographic information in a timely manner, this enables us to provide high quality, compassionate health care service to all who need them, regardless of their ability to pay. Positions may be available in the following areas:  Emergency Room, Operating Room, Outpatient, Infusion, Maternal Child, and Transplant Services.

Location: 904 7th Ave, 8th Floor, Seattle, WA (7th floor). Potential travel required to Northgate location (9709 3rd Ave. NE) one day per week.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, between the hours of 7:30am-4:30pm PST

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communicates directly with patients and / or families either in person or on the phone to complete the registration process by collecting patient demographics, health information, and verifying insurance eligibility / benefits
  • Responds to patient and caregivers' inquiries related to routine and sensitive topics always in a compassionate and respectful manner
  • Organizes and schedules patient services and appointments for referrals or follow - ups ensuring proper information is forwarded to practitioners
  • Utilizes computer systems to enter, access or verify patient data in real - time ensuring accuracy and completeness of information
  • Generates, reviews and analyzes patient data reports and follows up on issues and inconsistencies as necessary
  • Processing DME ordering
  • Help with Prior Authorization and insurance verification

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office experience
  • 6+ months of experience in an office setting, customer service setting, phone support role, or call center environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of Registration experience in a hospital or medical setting
  • 6+ months of experience with Prior Authorization and insurance knowledge
  • Prior experience with EPIC  
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Working knowledge of insurance policies and procedures and patient care settings  

 

Washington Residents Only: The hourly range for Washington residents is $16.54 to $32.55 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
