What will you do in this job?:

Oversee daily operations of employee housing including cleaning, organization, employee activities, staff communication, and maintaining up-to-date housing documentation.

  • Monitors employees' communal living spaces and 133 employee housing units for cleanliness, safety, and overall maintenance standards, ensuring a safe and welcoming community environment.
  • Completes employee housing assignments, conducts inspections, completes room changes, and maintains an updated list of occupants in employee housing.
  • Enforce Employee Housing Agreement standards, including noise levels, interpersonal conflicts, and overall expectations.
  • Maintain a daily professional presence in Employee Housing.
  • Assist Custodians to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of employee common areas.
  • Responsible for opening and closing of employee housing at the start and end of season.
  • Execute the Resident Advisor program which includes recruiting applicants, scheduling monthly meetings, assigning events, and distributing communications to residents of Employee Housing.
  • Prepares general memos using Microsoft Office and Canva regarding various matters to advise staff of changes, events and activities, and other communications.
  • Maintains Employee Social Media accounts, including staff Facebook group and Instagram.
  • Partners with Operations Assistant to complete staff onboarding and conduct employee orientations.
  • Provides transportation for employees using company passenger van to various appointments when necessary.
  • Maintains a clear and concise inventory of all employee housing items.
  • Ensure that Resident Advisors and employee housing residents comprehend their assigned cleaning responsibilities, including end-of-season move-out expectations.
  • Plans and executes employee engagement functions and activities, such as craft days, group hikes, themed dinners, shopping trips to Anchorage, visits to the Alaska Sealife Center, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:

Skills + Abilities:

  • Arrive to work on time, ready to work, with a neat and clean appearance
  • Familiarity with operation of standard office equipment
  • Must be tolerant of cultural differences and have strong listening and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to communicate with people in a professional and courteous manner in a variety of situations
  • Be innovative, resourceful, and professional in dealing with both management and employees
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented and keep information, issues and situations confidential
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work independently, managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Experience in communal housing or seasonal employment is advantageous

Physical Abilities:

  • Requires daily walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, stairs, and cleaning with commercial grade chemicals
  • Ability to drive a 14 Passenger Transit van locally and on Alaskan highways
  • Ability to safely lift and maneuver 35 - 50 lbs
  • Subject to Drug and Alcohol random testing

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficient with MS Office, Canva, and social media
  • Must be over 21 years of age and possess a valid Drivers’ License and have a clean driving record
  • Willing to a non-traditional schedule with various shifts, split shifts, and on holidays and weekends
  • CPR and/or First Aid training desirable
  • Previous experience living in employee housing is desirable
