Facility Engineer

Opportunity To provide support to facilities in establishing maintenance programs, implement maintenance best practices, and improve those in previously established locations. Analyzing, recommend and implement cost initiatives and document results in maintenance reliability. To work hand in hand with maintenance personnel to maximize resources and protect company assets. To support all aspects of KSMS Tier I, II, III and IV achievement goals and objectives with resources necessary to complete all levels. The Supervisor is to ensure all areas they manage are implementing and sustaining all initiatives of KSMS safety standards. The individual needs to ensure that their areas of responsibility are always operating under the absolute safest working environment for its associates and their activities. Specific Responsibilities •To analyze, recommend and implement cost savings opportunities within the Maintenance division to fully utilize company resources, assets, and maintenance personnel.
•Develop equipment or system modifications for recommendation to management that will provide reliability, safety, and/or reduced operating cost.
•Designs and develops new/unique repair methods, procedures, special equipment, innovative test procedures, and analysis of failure.
•Prepare diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports to avoid maintenance delay and make recommendations for improvement.
•Work with planner to establish Preventive Maintenance Procedures in the CMMS Maintenance system including standards, frequency of work, material, tools, etc.
•Initiates engineering studies into equipment/process repair time.
•Responsible for the design and planning of the facility equipment including but not limited to chillers, boilers, air handling units and exhaust fans.
•Supports utility budgets, provides design input and project reviews, and completes Electrical Engineering Designs.
•Responsible for preparation of various forms of facility project documentation, including CAD drawings for facility and equipment related modifications.
•Responsible for planning, designing, and coordinating facility, office, and production equipment layouts for economy of operation and maximum utilization of facilities and equipment.
•Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.
•Acts as engineering liaison with other disciplines and departments to ensure processes and designs are compatible.
•Responsible for all activities involving technical support including engineering designs, project designs, and construction support.
•Manage or assist on capital expenditure projects from design and conception, to fabrication, installation and commissioning. Will also manage the planning, scheduling, relocation, and refurbishment of equipment and machinery
•Record or report improvement opportunities to EHS when issues arise.

Skills/Requirements
• B.S. in Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.Â
• Minimum 5 – 10 years’ experience.
• Proficiency with ACAD.
• Knowledge of electrical building codes.
• Must have mechanical and structural background.
• Strong background and experience in the areas of HVAC (fan systems, central plant equipment, specialized exhaust systems, clean dry air, acid exhaust systems).
• Able to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic circuitry schematics.
• To stand out, an electrical degree, an electrical or HVAC license or certification, and Programmable Logic Controls experience are preferred.
The salary range for this position is $73,400 - $92,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
