Sr. Manager, Logistics Sheridan

Opportunity

Manages the strategic and tactical logistics/distribution functions for multiple Manufacturing Based Distribution Center operations for KBNA. This position has responsibility for all aspects of the management and operation of the Warehouse & Distribution facilities as well as front line ownership of Customer Experience/Delivery. This position has the operational budget responsibility for definitive action and decision making relative to DC’s located at Sheridan, AR, Huntsville, AL, Casa Grande, AZ, and other new locations to be determined within the KBNA distribution network.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Warehouse & Distribution Operations strategies for Kohler Plant Distribution locations.  Support and coach the DC Managers on daily operational execution.
  • Manage the performance of Kohler Co. Warehouse & Distribution sites through the establishment of processes and procedures with clear expectations using defined metrics.
  • Responsible for and direct all site activities that support Safety, Delivery, Quality and Cost within the logistics environment.
  • Responsible for the preparation and performance of annual Capital and Financial Budgets in addition to monthly financial projections and analysis for each respective facility.
  • Manage strategic planning process in collaboration with S&OP to ensure Kohler Co. service requirements are met.
  • Support Sales and Marketing teams and interact with end customers to understand and manage shipment quality, order accuracy and customer value added programs. Visit customer sites as needed.
  • Manage Warehouse & Distribution contractual negotiations for any offsite or vendor agreements and execute, supported by Kohler Legal.
  • Lead and support cross-functional project management such as DC facility start-ups, business specific initiatives, and equipment and software procurement and installation.
  • Develop and monitor a key performance indicator (KPI) dashboard, including metrics and measurements for all regional facilities.
  • Represent Supply Chain function in general management of Business Teams as required by the Director - Logistics.
  • Direct and mentor plant site Logistics teams, lead and develop the Logistics culture focused on the customer experience while driving out waste and cost in operations.
  • Partner with the CI team to identify and implement strategic projects to reduce waste and improve cost performance within the DCs.
  • Partner with site manufacturing teams to drive efficiency and product flow.
  • Identify, champion, and implement large scale facility automation projects.

Skills/Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration or related field.
  • Must have 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in Supply Chain project work and process improvement is essential.
  • Must exhibit strong Supply Chain process and data analysis capabilities.
  • Must understand inter-relationships across Supply Chain functions and impacts to Income Statement. Previous experience in multi-site operational management a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and database software such as SAP or Oracle is essential.
