Designs, develops, improves, tests, and maintains mechanical equipment for Deluxe’s fulfillment operations to required specifications.  Focuses on safety, reliability, quality, and sustainability. CAD design through build, hands on installation and support. Provides on call support to plant maintenance personnel for equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work independently and with cross functional teams to provide and validate business cases. Build detailed project plans and execute to plan.

  • Create and assemble custom machined, 3D created or sourced parts for beta and/or production equipment projects.  Use mill, lathe, drill, welding, and associated shop equipment.

  • Research market available or custom created print, packaging, and fulfillment equipment to meet manufacturing requirements.  Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.

  • Test and validate OEM or internal equipment for throughput, quality, and robustness.

  • Operate computer assisted engineering design software and equipment.   Provide detailed work to sources, and archive for support.

  • Direct and train various individuals.

  • Test and validate internal designs and OEM designs from concept through installations.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; attend industry trade shows and networking.

Position requires up to 30% travel in the United States and Canada as well as on call responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in engineering and 3 years of relevant experience or High School diploma/GED and 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering 

  • Must be at least 18 years old

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands on machinist experience

  • Demonstrated CAD portfolio in design to build projects

  • Project management experience

  • Experience in the conventional and/or digital printing industry

  • Working experience with computer and electrical controls experience

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $93,000.00 - $103,000.00 annually. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.
