About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Radiologist for a locum tenens position at a Hospital in South Dakota. This 28-day assignment starts on 06/01/2025, with a flexible schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM, initially for one week per month with the potential to taper down to 3 days per month. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing in-house mammography and breast biopsies. This role offers an opportunity to work in a hospital setting, providing essential radiology services. The physician will be responsible for interpreting various diagnostic imaging studies, performing specialized procedures, and collaborating with other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Perform and interpret mammography examinations 

• Conduct breast biopsies and other specialized procedures 

• Interpret a wide range of diagnostic imaging studies 

• Collaborate with referring physicians and other healthcare providers 

• Provide timely and accurate radiology reports 

• Participate in multidisciplinary conferences as needed 

• Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records 

• Stay updated on the latest advancements in radiology techniques and technologies 

• Provide consultation to other medical staff regarding imaging findings 

• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the radiology department 

• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols

Additional Information: 

• Must be licensed to practice medicine in South Dakota 

• Board certification in Radiology required 

• Strong clinical skills in mammography and breast imaging 

• Experience with breast biopsy procedures 

• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare team 

• Ability to work efficiently in a flexible schedule 

• Comfortable managing a diverse range of radiology cases 

• Possibility of assignment extension or adjustment to schedule beyond the initial 28 days
