About the role:
Join Takeda as a Research Specialist II where you will provide process support to the Fractionation manufacturing groups by solving technical issues within the Social Circle fractionation manufacturing facility. You will assist your quality and manufacturing partners in maintaining process compliance, aiding in the implementation of yield and process improvements, and supporting process validation activities. As part of the Fractionation Manufacturing Sciences team, you will report to the Head of Manufacturing Sciences, Fractionation.
How you will contribute:
- Troubleshoot and provide resolution to technical issues to support ramp-up and steady-state operations of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
- Evaluate and prepare product impact assessments for process exceptions.
- Conduct smaller yield and cycle time improvement projects projects. Expected to make suggestion on improvements based on recent technical knowledge.
- Work with Manufacturing to help promote important metrics such as yields and capacity.
- Track and trend yields and report on the important metrics.
- Implement experiments in the Manufacturing Sciences lab.
- Lead teams to resolve complex problems.
- Develop process validation protcols and final reports (e.g. process performance qualification, mixing study, hold study). Coordinate and support training and execution of validation activities.
- Promote the use of DMAIC tools in projects.
- Analyze scientific, and statistical data to draw appropriate conclusions.
- Support information sharing and learning between team members.
- Provide technical support for equipment in manufacturing, as second level support. Gain knowledge of systems to grow into a Subject Matter Expert (SME) role.
What You Bring to Takeda:
- Requires bachelor’s degree in a science or other related technical field. 2+ years of related experience.
- Experience working in an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment is desired.
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of the purification of plasma proteins and biochemistry.
- Experience with basic scientific principles in several scientific disciplines.
- Experience solving routine technical problems.
- Discuss normally encountered technical and project management issues, both verbally and in written form.
- Can effectively communicate with teams and management and be detail oriented with good engineering and project skills.
- Must be experienced using Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Minitab or other statistical software preferred.
- Can lead small teams and work as a collaborative team member.
- Individual that requires minimal guidance.
- Training in concepts of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma quality techniques is preferred.
Important Considerations
At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. You may:
- May wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full body gowns, hair nets and gloves and hearing protection.
- Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
- Work in a cold, wet environment.
- Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
- Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

USA - GA - Social Circle - Hwy 278U.S. Base Salary Range:
$67,900.00 - $106,700.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
