The Retail Web Technology (RWT) organization leads the development and maintenance of Schwab's premier digital platform for retail clients - individual investors just like you.

 

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Software Developer III to join our team. The role is focused on building and enhancing tools in support of a world-class software development process. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining a comprehensive metrics dashboard and other critical tools that help us create our industry-leading client website. Responsibilities:

 

Software Development and Support:

  • Develop and maintain tools and utilities that support the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to understand their tooling and integration needs and provide effective solutions.
  • Champion software development best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for tools and integrations.

Data Pipelines and Metrics Dashboard Development:

  • Design and implement data pipelines to collect, transform, and load data from various internal systems into the metrics dashboard.
  • Develop and maintain APIs and data connectors to facilitate seamless integration between systems.
  • Ensure data integrity and reliability across all integrated systems.
  • Design, develop, and maintain a robust and insightful metrics dashboard that provides real-time visibility into key software development and quality metrics.
  • Optimize dashboard performance and scalability to manage growing data volumes.
  • Create and maintain documentation for the dashboard and related integration processes.

What you have


Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • An exacting diligence and the talent and enthusiasm for producing highly usable and scalable web software solutions using advanced development technologies.
  • 10+ years’ experience building excellent customer experiences using Microsoft .NET technologies.
  • 10+ years’ experience with C# / .NET Core development.
  • Confidence using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • 10+ years’ experience creating and consuming RESTful services.
  • Familiarity with Angular, TypeScript, and client side MV* frameworks.
  • Responsive Design and Single Page Applications (SPA) experience.
  • Experience with SQL and database management.
  • Familiarity with unit testing patterns (TDD/BDD) and methodologies.

Preferred:

  • Experience with metrics collection and analysis.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and libraries (e.g., Grafana, Tableau, D3.js).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
