Deputy Program Manager

Overview:

The Deputy Operations (Ops) Manager will work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment supporting scientific and engineering personnel on a laboratory facility decontamination and decommissioning project.

The individual will work directly with the on-site Operations Manager and project management team to oversee and direct resources, interface with the clients, and interact with the on-site support personnel to ensure project milestones are met.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Operations Manager with managing scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Assisting with on-site and remote resources, including engineering, scientific, and project management disciples.
  • Directly interfacing with multiple clients and their representatives.
  • Ensuring client satisfaction and working closely with the client's technical team.
  • Assisting the Operations Manager with project resources, technical changes and expediting scheduled activities.
  • Experience with large facility closure projects
  • Experience in Facility Engineering (Mechanical Engineer preferred).
  • Experience in biocontainment and laboratory operations is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Federal and State regulatory compliance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly support the development and review of technical deliverables based on their expertise

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent. (May substitute experience for education on a year-by-year basis).
  • Minimum five (5) years of engineering, scientific, or project management experience. Note: Mechanical Engineer preferred)
  • Background in engineering, science, or project management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience communicating with multiple clients and client representatives.
  • Willingness to enter/exit and work in biocontainment facilities.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Professional Engineering license.
  • Registered Biosafety Professional.
  • Certified Biosafety Professional.
  • Commissioning Agent.
  • Project Management Professional.

Security Clearance:

  • Must have the ability and willingness to obtain a US Government clearance, US Citizenship is required.

Physical Demands:

N/A

Travel:

  • Ability to travel to either Orient Point, NY or Old Saybrook, CT on a regular basis and take a ferry to work.

Work Environment:

Standard office environment.
