POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Materials Control Analyst role coordinates with customers, suppliers, carriers and internal Penske team and supervisor to plan, secure, and resolve transportation challenges. This position provides operational support to assist the Supervisor and team in the management of customer transportation orders using Penske’s Transportation Management System (TMS).

SHIFT:

Monday thru Friday day shift start time 6:00am. Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet customer demand

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Subject Matter Expert on account business rules, and Standard Operating Procedures. Train the team and update SOPs periodically.

• Support Supervisor on process management activities and customer communication.

• Act as first/second level escalation for customer inquiries.

• Help cover DPP calls (Ford Supplier Constraint Calls) and communicate plant needs. Participate in supplier coverage plans.

• Facilitate and lead Carrier & Supplier compliance issues.

• Use discretion and independent judgment to answer customer requests and propose solutions.

• Develop and assist with presenting customer analytics, key trends, and solution proposals during customer QBR’s.

• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-3 years inventory/auditing/transportation experience preferred.

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Some college, preferred

• Fundamental understanding of transportation, supply chain and logistics concepts

• Strong problem solving, and time management skills required

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and multitask

• Ability to follows process and standard procedures

• Experience analyzing large sets of data

• Advanced computer skills including Excel and Outlook required

• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

• Ability to prioritize tasks & work in a fast-paced environment. Problem solver, Team Player, Sense of urgency, attention to detail.
