LSF is looking for a talented ­­­­­­­­­­­­­Donations Handler/Driver who wants to make an impact in the lives of others.

Purpose and Impact:

The Donations Handler/Drive is responsible for collecting, sorting, and delivering donations to support our programs.

This role requires flexibility with some evening and weekend work required.  

Essential Functions:

  • Drive to designated locations to pick up donations, including but not limited to clothing, food, and other essential items.
  • Maintain a schedule for regular pickups and communicate effectively with donors.
  • Sort, categorize, and organize donations upon arrival at the facility.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of donations received and distributed.
  • Interact with donors, volunteers, and community members in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Provide information about the organization and its mission when appropriate
  • Follow all safety regulations and organizational policies related to transportation and handling of donations.
  • Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained.
  • Report any vehicle issues or necessary repairs to management.
  • Attend all trainings and meetings as required by state, federal and accrediting bodies.
  • Update needs list with social media and communication team.
  • Train house parents how to keep donated items organized and inventoried.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have a high level of energy.
  • Must be adaptable and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Able to lift up to 75lb boxes.
  • Ability to drive both locally and throughout the state in connection with the duties of this position.

Education/Experience:

  • A High School Diploma or GED required. This is an entry-level position.

Skills:

  • Acceptance of a variety of lifestyles, behaviors, and cultural and spiritual practices.
  • Strong public relations skills.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Basic computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Office.
  • Patient and compassionate, positive attitude towards community service.
  • Strong organizational skills

Other: 

  • Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.
  • Valid driver’s license and appropriate driving record for the last two (2) years and appropriate auto liability insurance required.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to successfully pass a Level II background screening and drug test.
