We are looking for you to join our team as a Sr. Principal Quality Engineer based out of Sunnyvale, CA supporting our Launcher Systems Programs. This position may support working a few days a week in a hybrid fashion. What you will get to do: The Quality Engineer develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Engineer Quality: Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a quality assurance, mission assurance, or related engineering role (or a master’s degree and 6 or more years of relevant experience). Experience engaging with manufacturing and QC personnel on the shop floor to provide solutions Experience with standard Visual and Mechanical Inspection techniques and tools Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action Ability to travel, up to 25% Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance US Citizenship required Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management System Environment Experience with standard non-destructive testing techniques and tools in a fabrication, machining, and assembly environment. Experience with Earned Value Management. Experience developing, collecting, and analyzing metrics. Experience conducting or managing internal audits Experience working on DOD contracts and on Supplier Quality efforts.
