Quality Engineer/Principal Engineer Quality

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for a Quality Engineer or Principal Quality Engineer with experience in quality and/or software quality to join our team in Sykesville, MD. In this role you will be performing or assuring quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements to support multiple programs. Qualified candidates work as part of a team, demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, possess the ability to plan and be customer-support focused. Individuals must also have demonstrated ability to evaluate whether documents, instructions and procedures are being followed during execution and demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. We are looking for a driven self-starter with high initiative and a motivated self-learner to fill this position. This position is full-time on site. Responsibilities include: Providing quality guidance/direction to operators and inspectors on the floor Ensuring Software Quality requirements and processes are being implemented and maintained Collaborating with functional organizations including purchasing, design engineering, manufacturing engineering, and program management to ensure quality standards are in place Monitoring program quality metrics and leading SQDCM cell meetings and driving corrective actions for improvement Ensuring timely preparation and delivery of program deliverables Reviewing contracts for Quality Assurance requirements Conducting process audits on programs and quality systems for deficiencies and ensuring effective corrective measures. This position can be hired at either a Quality Engineer level or a Principal Quality Engineer level.
