Summary

CHS, Inc. is looking for a Terminal Operations Supervisor Trainee to join our TEMCO team, a joint venture between Cargill and CHS, Inc., in Tacoma, WA to record and monitor the loading of vessels/railcars and unloading of railcars with a PLC system. Vessels and rail cars will be filled with agricultural commodities to be distributed around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions
  • Efficiently communicate both verbal and written to all supervisors and labor work force
  • Promptly report any safety concerns, maintenance needs or repairs to supervisor.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the commodities handled at the location and comply with company policy and government regulations pertaining to commodities.
  • Control and monitor all load out and or unloading functions.
  • Monitor and maintain quality and quantity of inventory
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
     

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of experience in production/operations

Additional Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a federal background check and receive a Transportation Workers Identification Card (T.W.I.C)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field
  • Familiar with Microsoft 365, Excel, Access, One Note and Share Point
  • Lean Training/certification
  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. Physical Requirements

  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs
  • Ability to work in grain dust and adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to work at heights

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
