POSITION SUMMARY:

This Urgent Care Technician II is a multi-tasking Certified Medical Assistant/X-Ray Technician/Registrar who works as a valued member of the patient care team. Their work responsibilities range from checking in patients to performing patient care tasks necessary to care for the pediatric patient. Key characteristics of this team member include but are not limited to: ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively, a team player, people focused, excellent customer service skills and technical skills necessary to perform this role. Two Urgent Care Technicians will work together to assure all components of the job are completed professionally, timely and efficiently.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Provides medical administrative support, including registering incoming patients needing Pediatric Urgent Care services.
  2. Takes vital signs and rooms patients promptly and efficiently.
  3. Prepares patient/family for expectations of visits. Anticipates provider needs based on chief complaint.
  4. Document in Epic EMR: reason for visit, vital signs and task completion.
  5. Administers medication, as directed by the provider, utilizing the 5 rights, every time.
  6. Performs point of care testing, as ordered by the provider.
  7. Performs portable plain film x-ray, as ordered by the provider.
  8. Efficiently turns patient rooms over for next patient.
  9. Orders patient care supplies and medications, based on utilization and par levels.
  10. At end of shift, leaves area ready for the next patient day.
  11. Performs follow up phone calls both to the patient and their PCP and documents such in the Epic EMR.
  12. Is actively involved in discussions to assure optimal efficiency of the Urgent Care Clinic.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent
  2. Certified Medical Assistant Preferred. Experience working with children preferred.
  3. Plain film portable radiology experience with children. Basic X-Ray Machine Operator license (BMO) OR Registered Radiology Technologist (ARRT) with Florida Radiology License.
  4. Experience working in an Urgent Care setting and /or large volume pediatrician office
  5. EPIC EMR experience preferred

Salary Range: Minimum 18.47 per hour - Maximum 29.55 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
