Commercial Manager Job Summary
Our client, a growing leading port terminal operator specializing in bulk and break bulk cargo, is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to help drive sales efforts at their U.S.-based port terminals. They’re expanding their commercial team to meet their robust growth goals and deliver superior service to clients. The role will be located in their Tampa office.
Commercial Manager Responsibilities
- Develop and present commercial proposals for mid-sized accounts handling break bulk (e.g., project cargo, heavy machinery), multipurpose, and bulk (e.g., aggregates, minerals) shipments.
- Manage the sales pipeline, ensuring high conversion rates for U.S.-based clients in the maritime sector.
- Oversee post-sale relationships, driving client retention and satisfaction for break bulk and bulk accounts.
- Collaborate with the junior executive to qualify leads and refine strategies for the U.S. market.
- Use CRM tools to track opportunities, monitor performance, and report on key metrics.
Commercial Manager Position Requirements
- 5 + years of experience in sales or business development, ideally in port terminals or maritime logistics with a focus on break bulk, multipurpose, or bulk cargo.
- Familiarity with the U.S. port terminals market, including key hubs.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Zoho).
- Excellent communication and client management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field.
