TRC is seeking a talented Manufacturing Process Engineer to oversee the Wave Soldering process for one of our automotive electronics manufacturing clients. This position is onsite in Tarboro, NC and relocation assistance is available!
Job Summary:
This role will be responsible for through-hole soldering process development and improvement in a high volume, high mix automotive manufacturing setting.
The incumbent will work alongside Maintenace, quality and production colleagues to improve existing processes and define new processes where needed. You will be able to provide expertise regarding process improvement techniques to achieve corporate objectives within the costs allowable.
路 Provide hands on process engineering support for PCB assembly operations including wave solder processes
路 Evaluate manufacturing problems and provide resolutions
路 Develop line support personnel
路 Develop Soldering processes for new products
o Pallet design
o Tooling design
o Support new product builds
路 Analyze wave solder performance data and drive continuous improvements in defect rates, equipment uptime and cycle time
路 Create and maintain wave solder profiles
路 Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:

路 2 year degree with 2+ years of experience supporting wave solder processes
路 Self-directed and task-oriented
路 Willing to work overtime as required
路 Proven ability to lead project teams
路 Experience with Microsoft Office Applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:

路 4 year Engineering Degree from an ABET or ATMAE accredited program
路 5+ years experience supporting wave solder process with demonstrated record of driving process improvements
路 3 years of work experience in a high speed, Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment
路 Familiar with Project Management processes
Skills and Abilities:

路 Proven ability to make sound business decisions and exercise good judgment

路 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy

路 Analyze technology, resource needs, market demand, and confers with all departments to assess feasibility of projects
路 Improves manufacturing proficiency levels to meet site goals and objectives
路 Understanding of all processes, procedures, and equipment
路 Coordinates and recommends cost savings and efficiency ideas for the facility
路 Strong verbal and written communication skills
Supervisory Responsibilities:
路 This position does not supervise others
Software:
路 Basic level proficiency with Windows, MSWord, and PowerPoint
路 Intermediate level proficiency with Excel
