Electrical Service Technician Job Summary

We are seeking an Electrical Service Technician to be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems on marine vessels. This role requires hands-on experience with marine electrical systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. You will be tasked with ensuring that all electrical components of marine engines, propulsion systems, and onboard systems operate efficiently and comply with industry standards and safety regulations.

Electrical Service Technician Responsibilities

  • Work closely with mechanical technicians to coordinate electrical work during engine repairs or overhauls.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and manuals to perform accurate installations and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Coast Guard and other regulatory bodies’ standards for electrical systems on vessels.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, maintenance logs, and equipment evaluations.
  • Provide technical support to customers regarding electrical system operations and maintenance.

Electrical Service Technician Position Requirements

  • Must be capable of acquiring valid TWIC
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
