The Staff Pad has partnered with a community health center outside of Tucson, Arizona. We are seeking a Behavioral Health Consultant to join our client's organization that has been recognized as a "National Quality Leader" by the US Department of Health and Human Services. As a Behavioral Health Consultant, you will be responsible for identifying, triaging, and managing patients with medical and behavioral health problems within the primary care setting. This also includes providing skills training and developing specific behavioral change plans for patients and behavioral health protocols for target populations.Ā

Responsibilities:

  • Assist primary health care providers in recognizing and treating mental disordersĀ and psychosocial problems.
  • AssessĀ the clinical status of patients referred by primary care providers through brief consultative contacts.
  • Work with primary care team to treat and manage patients with chronic emotional and/or health problems efficiently and effectively.
  • Work with primary care providers to refer cases to mental health specialists as appropriate.
  • Assist in the detection of ā€œat riskā€ patients and development plans to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration.
  • Assist in preventing relapse or morbidity in conditions that tend to recur over time.
  • Evaluate patient care plans with primary care team.
  • Teach patients, families, and staff care, prevention, and treatmentĀ enhancementĀ techniques.
  • Monitor the siteā€™s behavioral health program, identifying problems related to patient services and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and Quality Improvement activities as required.
  • Respond to patient or co-worker complaints and work toward a positive resolution of any dispute.
  • Serve as a member of site committees as requested.
  • Participate in evaluation of peers and support staff.
  • Use and support the Integrative Behavioral Health Model.
  • Establish productive relationships with other behavioral health agencies.
  • Attend medical staff meetings.
  • Participate, train and utilize tele-health services in the evaluation, management and treatment of patients, as appropriate. (AddedĀ tele-healthĀ duties as result of a national emergency to meet patient demand.)


Requirements



Educational Requirements:
  • Masterā€™s or PhD in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field.Ā 
Experience:Ā 
  • At least three to five years experience in an outpatient clinic setting.Ā 
Certification/Licensure:
  • Current Arizona licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Psychologist
  • Or Provisional licensure with AZ Board of Behavioral Health Examiners: LAC or LMSW
  • Training in Evidence Based Practices, CBT, DBT, or other preferred.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance as a condition of the first day of employment ā€‹
