- UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
Responsibilities
- Exercises critical thinking skills in all aspects of the FA role.
- Establishes and maintains a safe operative environment.
- Provides technical first assistance to the primary surgeon in the operating room.
- Partners with the physician to enhance the effectiveness of patient care.
- Provides excellent customer service to patients and staff ensuring UT Health and departmental objectives are maintained
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Job Requirements:Â
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Successful completion of an approved FA course
- Proficient in scrubbing all specialties with a minimum of 3 years of experience
- Current Certification in Surgical Technology
- Current Certification as a First Assistant
- Current BLS
