Join our team as a day shift, full-time, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in Tyler, Texas.  You may be eligible for a sign on bonus up to $1000.

Get to Know Your Team: 

  • UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 432 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician.
  • Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes.
  • Clinical duties may include rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by the physician.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current licensure as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant

  • Basic personal computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Windows operating system; database and word processing skills.

  • Patient record documentation skills

  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire

Preferred Job Requirements:  

  • 6 months’ medical clinic experience
