Honda Racing Corporation USA formerly known as Honda Performance Development, Inc., a leader in motorsports racing, is seeking a highly organized and detailed oriented Senior Engineer – Electrification Group leader to join its Racing Program in Santa Clarita, California.

Senior Engineer – Electrification Group leader:

A leader of the electrification group in HRC USA, that will work under the supervision of the Head of Electrical group to define, with the manager, the technical direction on ESS system, Inverter and MGU development as well as any electrification topic that could arise. Will manage the group responsible of component selection, cells, MGU , inverter components, software and validation processes. Work closely with other departments in HRC in the development of electrified powertrain systems (Design, development, assembly, chassis and powertrain engineering, program management, production. Act as technical specialist in electrified powertrains. Deploy and help deploy Electrified system at the track, review health of system used, work with the track team. Will also work with the governing bodies like Indycar and IMSA in order to make sure our roadmap aligns with the series.

Qualifications include:

BS Degree in Electrical or Mechanical or energy Engineering with emphasis in electrification, vehicle performance or equivalent work experience. 5 years of experience in electrification and support of high-performance race powertrains, and energy system design and development; and related mechanical and electronic systems; and previous technical writing and reporting required. Previous data analysis and data base experience required. 4+ years of both theoretical and practical powertrain and vehicle performance, electrified energy systems; data analysis and problem-solving experience. Ability to read schematic drawings. Hands-on experience with specialized energy systems, testing and control systems. Competent hands on skills with a variety of hand tools. Excellent computing skills, competent with main Microsoft products, Ability to lead effectively; effectively interface with various personality types; data mining and tool creation; good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in team environment and under minimal supervision.  Traveling may be required.
