Job Overview:  Aveanna Education Services seeks to hire a School Psychologist to support the educational needs of K-12 students attending public schools.  We have contracts with multiple school districts in several states. 

This posting is for a School Psychologist position working in the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District.  This school district is in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

The School Psychologist will conduct direct assessments of students to aid interdisciplinary teams in determining if students are eligible (or remain eligible) for special education services or  504 service agreements.  The School Psychologist will also collaborate with other professionals to ensure assessments address all relevant domains that impact student’s ability to benefit from a free appropriate public education.   The School Psychologist  will be an integral member of students’ interdisciplinary teams and serve as a resource for team members as they design plans to promote the social, emotional, and educational growth of students.

 

Job Duties:

  • Conduct and score psychological and skill assessments. Draft reports summarizing assessments and findings.
  • Share and be prepared to discuss reports/findings with relevant parties
  • Contribute to programs that furthers the social, emotional, and educational growth of students
  • Collaborate with school personnel and contracted professionals to ensure the supports students receive are comprehensive and integrated (i.e., professionals work with one another)
  • Attend individual education planning and placement committee meetings as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in a field that makes one eligible for licensure/certification by the state
  • Current, unrestricted licensure/certification as a School Psychologist in Pensylvania
  • Possess good oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, problem solving, along with consultation and collaboration skills.

State-Specific Requirements:  (e.g., child abuse clearance, state police criminal background check, FBI finger printing, Mandated Reporter training, etc…)

Physical Requirements:

  • Visual acuity and hearing are required for the delivery of assessment, intervention, and consultation services
  • Occasional lifting of materials and equipment of less than 25 pounds
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
  • Must be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in a school setting

 

Environment:

  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases
