Job Description:
The Physician Assistant – Surgical Specialties provides clinical expertise caring for patients needing surgical evaluation, undergoing surgery and invasive procedures through the continuum of care. The Physician Assistant – Surgical Specialties will function in collaboration with surgeons and physicians within the JMSMG. Care provided by the Physician Assistant – Surgical Specialties and other team members caring for the patients is expected to be provided and coordinated following standard procedure and policies as directed by the treating surgeon. The Physician Assistant – Surgical Specialties will support General Surgeons, Colo-Rectal Surgeon, Bariatric Surgeons and Hepato-Pancreato-Billary Surgeon within the John Muir Health Physician Network. The Physician Assistant – Surgical Specialties will report to the Practice Manager and will be directly supervised by the Lead Physician of the Division of Surgery of JMSMG.Education:
Approved Physician Assistant Program - Required
Bachelor's Degree - Required
Experience:
2 years Healthcare/Medical - Physician Assistant - Required
Healthcare - Surgical Care (any domain)Â - Required
Certifications/Licensures:
PA Physician Assistant - PAB California Board of Physician Assistant Board - Required
CPA Certified Physician Assistant - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants - Required
DEA Drug Enforcement Agency - US Dept of Justice - Drug Enforcement Administration - Required
BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required
ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association - Preferred

$92.07 - $138.11HourlyOffer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
