Job Description:

Performs management of operational functions of the Security Services Department under the general supervision of the Chief of Security.  The Program Manager- Workplace Violence Prevention is responsible for developing and leading the John Muir Health (JMH) system’s violence prevention Program. This position serves as the primary point/resource contact for the team and community partners.  Leads and supports the Workplace Violence Prevention Committee, which is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects and education relating to workplace violence.  They will work with the JMH system’s interdisciplinary team(s) to mitigate the risks of WPV events.  The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of California Code of Regulations – Title 8, Section 3342, Health and Safety Code, Section 1257, and TJC related standards, including EC.02.01.01, as the system ensures compliance with these requirements.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, such as healthcare administration, public health, criminal justice, nursing, social work, or psychology - Required
     

Additional Experience Requirements:

  • Five years clinical experience appropriate to clinical licensure requirement

  • Three (3) years program development/management experience, with at least one (1) year of Emergency Management, Workplace Violence Prevention, and/or Hospital Security experience. 
     

Certifications/Licensures:

  • Clinical Licensure – Registered Nurse OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker OR Licensed Professional Clinical Counsellor - Required

  • Workplace violence prevention instructor certification, such as CPI, AVADE, etc. - Preferred

  • Certification in healthcare security (i.e. Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator – CHPA, Certified Healthcare Safety Professional - CHSP) or related credentials - Preferred 
     

Skills

  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and standards related to workplace violence prevention, including Cal/OSHA requirements - Required

  • Data collection, analysis, and interpretation - Required

  • Proficient in computer program skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook - Core

  • Must be able to drive to multiple John Muir Health sites

Work Shift:

Exempt Salaried (United States of America)

Pay Range:

$104,065.00 - $156,098.00Salary

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.

Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
