Job Description:

The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, American Nurses Association's (ANA) Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16. The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.Education:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing - Required
Experience:
6 Months Nursing - Medical Acute Care - Required
Additional Experience Requirements:
** For WCMC Oncology Medical Acute Care Only:**
CoC Standard 4.2- Oncology Nursing Credential- 12 Oncology Specific CEU per year for a total of 36 CEU throughout 3 year accreditation cycle Required
Certifications/Licensures:
RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing - Required
BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required
ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate - ONS Oncology Nursing Society – Required within 18 months of hire date or transfer date
Specialty Certification- OCN Oncology Certified Nurse - Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ANCC) - Preferred
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
For WCMC Oncology Medical Acute Care Only:
Must be competent to hang chemotherapy and oncology related medications once certified
Must be competent to manage venous access devices within 3 months
Must demonstrate competency and act as resource in the care of oncologic emergencies within 6 months
Must be competent to care for oncology and palliative care patients within 12 months
Must start demonstrating compliance with Standard 4.2 once the nurse has been employed for one calendar year

$78.58 - $107.07HourlyNote: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
