Job Description:
The Ambulatory Telephone Triage Nurse plays a crucial role in providing timely and efficient healthcare support to patients by telephone. The Telephone triage nurse provides timely and accurate assessment of a patient’s symptoms and utilizes critical thinking, nursing judgement, and approved decision support tools to provide appropriate nursing advice and determine the level of care required.Education:
Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program – Required​
Bachelor's Degree Nursing - Preferred

Experience:
1 Year Acute Care Hospital - Preferred
1 Year Ambulatory, triage, or medical office experience - Preferred
1 Year Telephone Triage – Preferred

Certifications/Licensures:
RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing - Required
BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association – Required
Skills
Evenings and weekends may be required
Advanced clinical assessment and decision-making ability
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Able to work well independently
Functions well in a high-stress environment
Sound critical thinking
Effective time management and organization skills
Empathetic with the ability to develop trust with patients
Bilingual in English/Spanish- preferred
The Triage Position is on-site in a Call Center Environment. Remote work is not offered. During the training/orientation period, new hires will be expected to work Day Shift (8am-5pm roughly) for a minimum of 2 weeks.
