The Neurosurgery APP works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for providing comprehensive care in acute and/or chronic illness. The APP will coordinate care between in-patient and out-patient services at Sibley Memorial Hospital and the NCR, as well as having have on-call responsibilities. Monitors quality of Neurosurgery care across the in-patient-out-patient continuum. Obtains appropriate histories, performs physical examinations, orders diagnostic testing as well as develops care and treatment plans. Other activities are in support of patient/family education, staff education, unit activities, and psychosocial care of patients and families.

HOURS: Full-time 40 hours/week;Will have On-call responsibilities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Licensed to practice as a PA or an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner in the District of Columbia.

2. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an AANP or ANCC accredited school.

3. 1 year of APP experience required. 2 years of Neurology/Neurosurgery APP work experience preferred.

5. Active Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification

6. PECOS enrollment

7. CDS and DEA licenses

Salary Range: Minimum 57.99 per hour - Maximum 89.88 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
