 What you will do:
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment, demonstrating safe behaviors at all times.
  • Focus on Good Manufacturing and Food Safety practices in all work.
  • Assist in installation, assembly, and set-up of production machinery.
  • Repairs facility equipment such as HVAC, electrical/electronic or material handling equipment, and is able to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Initiates preventative maintenance and establishes repair schedules.
  • Capable of data entry, and analysis of Maintenance Management System (Asset Essentials).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing support equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs production equipment using mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic blueprints.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing equipment, the functions, and operational procedures.
  • Teach basic mechanical skills to line operators to support autonomous maintenance, MOS (manufacturing operations system) functions, equipment set-up and center-lining.
  • Performs general facility maintenance to improve or modify facility.
  • Ability to quickly learn other functions pertaining to the job.
  • Fabricate or replicate minor pieces for the repair or replacement of parts on equipment.
  • Complete equipment changeovers and modifications.
  • Identify root causes of mechanical, electrical and control failures and resolve with effective problem-solving tools with minimal downtime or supervision.
  • Generate safety, productivity and continuous improvement ideas.
Experience Requirements:
 
At least 3 years industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment or equivalent education.
Working knowledge of electrical, electronic controls, pneumatics, mechanical, and tooling.
Self-motivated team player with the ability and willingness to make decisions, effectively communicate, problem solve and teach others.
Troubleshooting, programing and PLC knowledge is a bonus.
Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to frequently walk, kneel, squat, climb, bend, stoop, and twist. Ability to work in a variety of temperature and humidity conditions.
 
Advanced mechanical /electrical skills are a bonus
Completion of Industrial Maintenance degree or certificate a plus
Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
