Biomedical Facility Technical Manager
The Facility Technical Manager position is responsible for the overall technical maintenance of the dialysis facility. Work involves responsibility for supervising technical employees. The position exercises considerable judgement in applying professional knowledge in solving problems within established policies and practices.

Essential Functions
1. Participates in the recruiting, hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary procedures of facility technical employees.
2. Participates in the selection of outside service contractors and oversees work performed.
3. Performs and supervises all repairs and maintenance as related to medical equipment, water treatment systems, physical plant, and associated systems.
4. Develops policies and procedures for alternative water supplies by providing relevant information to the medical director and immediate supervisor. Coordinates and develops a system of implementation with an outside water treatment vendor if applicable.
5. Maintains and controls medical supply inventories.
6. Conducts relevant in-services for facility staff as directed by immediate supervisor.
7. Ensures compliance with Federal, State, OSHA, HIPAA and other regulatory agencies. Completes and maintains required records and documentation.
8. Acts as the facility's Safety Officer.
9. Participates in all facility surveys and CQI program.
Supervisory Responsibility
This Facility Technical Manager supports the clinic manager/immediate supervisor with supervisory responsibility of equipment technicians. This individual may participate in the interviewing and training of new staff and serves as point of contact for problem resolution and appropriate escalation of issues. Assists with training, coaching, and delegation of tasks. May provide recommendations on staff performance evaluations.
Physical Demand/Work Environment
This position operates in a clinical setting on the dialysis floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
This position will have exposure to cleaning and other chemicals, such as bleach, which is used daily in the work area. All hazards and chemicals are covered in the Hazard Communication Program as part of the Risk Management Policy and Procedure. A complete list is available for review upon request.
Required Education and Experience:
-High School Diploma or equivalent.
-2 years of experience in dialysis in the last 4 years preferred.
-A minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience in a medical/technical environment preferred.
-Must have valid driver's license.
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with clients and fellow employees.
