MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 12 HOUR ROTATING NIGHT SHIFTS, 7:00 P.M TO 7:00 A.M. (2 on 2 off, 3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off)  

Hourly pay rate begins at $21.28 (plus 1.00 shift differential for night shifts) Pay will top out at $25.50

JOB SUMMARY

Works under general supervision to prepare, cut, shear, and supply alloy charges for the casting operations, as well as, verifying incoming alloy to sort and/or identify using established methods and procedures.  Operator Works independently using personal judgment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Must be able to read and interpret Product Criteria (PC) and Activity Instructions (AI).
  • Using Computers (entering information.)
  • Must be able to function as a member of a team and be able to work under general supervision.
  • Must be able to maintain expected quality levels.
  • Comply with all site required policies and procedures including but not limited to:  EHS, Quality, Code of Conduct and the Wichita Falls Employee Handbook.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1.   Store, transfer, and relocate alloy from bins manually or by mechanical means which requires considerable physical effort.
2.   Cuts, shears, chamfers, and visually inspects charges for inclusions from bar stock to meet the required weight outlined by Engineering (product criteria) and the             standard operating procedures or activity instructions which requires moderate mental and visual effort.
3.   Maintains identifying markings and coordinates the storage area to avoid the mixing of alloy and maintain engineering reserves.
4.   Welds alloy charges to meet the proper weight and dispense additives such as silicon and manganese.
5.   Verifies incoming alloy quantities and type against alloy delivery sheets.  Notifies supervision of any irregularities.
6.   Ensures incoming alloy stored in Metal Control is properly identified with the proper heat number assigned by Alloy Control with the proper identification on the             container.
7.   Stores revert alloy and maintain routine inventory records. Prepares revert alloy for shipment and identifies each container.
8.   Maintains alloy cutting and shearing records.
9.   Keeps updated on all standard operating procedures, new methods or improvements.
10.   Performs other duties as required.
11.   Cleans up department and work area.
12.   Works Overtime when needed.

  • Considerable physical effort is required when loading alloy.
  • Reach for nearby, far away and overhead items.
  • Gripping, pinching and handling
  • Pushing, pulling and twisting.
  • Lifting and carrying to the waist-to-chest high level, floor to waist and chest to overhead.
  • Carrying items with two hands.
  • Carry with one hand.
  • Requires almost constant standing and sufficient strength to lift, handle and transport heavy alloy.
  • Climb stairs and ladders.
  • Crawl, squat, balance and sustain bending.
  • Finger Press and tolerate hand/arm vibration.
  • Moderate lifting >25, <50 lbs.
  • Must pass Jaeger 2 vision test annually

 

 

 

 


  • BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic Computer skills.
