Works under limited supervision, does repair welding of castings, dies, molds, fixtures and miscellaneous equipment; also does production welding on castings, per customer requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES |

Â
- Responsible for semi-complex task with inspection of results with standard gauges or devices.
- Reviews proper weld spec and PMS, determines allowable areas, procures proper weld rod, chills, and/or fixtures and makes proper power and gas settings.
- Care must be taken to get good fusion, without overheating and weld metal free of any slag entrapment.Â
- Selects own methods and arrives at own parameters, for all work other than production or repair welding of castings. TIG and arc welding equipment are employed.
- Commences welding, using proper diameter rod and TIG gun, after inspecting each weld area for adequate preparation. (Directs efforts of weld prep operator when additional weld prep is required).
- Defects detected after weld prep blending must be rerouted and rewelded.Â
- Assists in departmental housekeeping and new employee training.
- Applies weld identification.
- Performs other duties as required.Â
- Work requires constant attention to safety practices and procedures.Â
- Must acquire knowledge for acceptable/non-acceptable requirements for castings by     interpreting and understanding visual specifications as outlined by our customers and engineers.
- Ability to interpret moderate engineering detailed drawings.
- Ability of understanding visual, FPI, and X-ray defects and knowing how to route and prep each
- Ability to teach FPU and Visual Inspections, and other related operations.Â
- Must be familiar with welding symbols and be certified annually to customer standards for non-hardening steels, nickel and cobalt base alloys and heat and corrosion resistant materials.Â
- Independent judgment is frequently required.
- All Internal and External audit preparation and facilitation, including NADCAP, Customers BU and Local.
- Specification review.
- Complies with all EHS rules related to the work environment.
- Works Overtime as needed.Â

- Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE). (wearing of safety glasses, metal tarsal shoes, helmet/hard hat, hearing protection and gloves).

   3. Work Environment: (Chemical and Physical Exposures)
- Requires wearing safety glasses, earplugs, Metal tarsal shoes and other department specified PPE
- May be exposed to noise, oil, dust, fumes, chemicals, heat and cold.
- Some exposure to changes in seasonal temperatures.
- Nickel.
- Torch for Welding.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Â
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.Â
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.Â
- This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Â
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic Computer skills.
- Prefer MCO experience.
