Works under the direction and supervision of Recreation Therapist to create, implement, lead and adapt activities to ensure participants have a positive experience in group and individual activities. Works in conjunction with the Recreation Therapist in planning, organizing, directing, and leading therapeutic activities for participants in large and small groups. Adapts activities to ensure that individual participants are successful in programs. Assists in the development of monthly activities calendar and daily activities schedule, ensuring schedule is posted. Documents daily attendance and notes progress and decline in program involvement by participants. Assists with the purchase, organization, and storage of recreational supplies. Maintains inventory and distribution of participant name tags with tags coded with information regarding level of assistance and support potential for wander, and dietary restrictions needed by participant. Collaborates with Personal Care Assistants assigned to activities and assists with personal care needs as needed to promote the safety and comfort of participants. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
